Ryan Law, Ahrefs’ Director of Content Marketing, unveiled a new content automation system that uses Claude Code and 23 custom skill files to produce publish‑ready article drafts in six to twelve minutes. The pipeline mirrors the existing human editorial workflow, chaining steps from keyword research and competitor gap analysis to structural outlining, drafting, and formatting, with each stage outputting a markdown file for review. By leveraging the Ahrefs MCP, the system pulls live keyword metrics, competitor insights, and SERP overviews, ensuring the AI never hallucinates data. Skill files are continuously refined using Anthropic’s skill‑creator, which tests each stage and suggests concise improvements, keeping the guidance effective and lightweight. The process also includes interactive previews that render the draft in Chrome and allow inline comments for quick iteration, while a final skill handles image insertion and HTML formatting. Ryan emphasizes that the system is not meant to scale content to thousands of articles but to maintain an evergreen library of high‑quality, evergreen pieces on core topics.
